The Ray Rice Suspension has angered an unlikely group - the National Organization for Women (NOW)
September 09, 2014
The National Organization for Women has come out in protest of the recent Ray Rice Suspension. Spokeswomen Terry O'Neil had this to say to the press, "Women are in every way the same as men. So this man attacking this woman should be no different than a woman attacking a man. Legendary tennis player Sabrina Williams has been charged on three separate occasions for domestic abuse and she didn't receive one single day of suspension."
Terry went on to say, "If we want equality it needs to be on every level. We can't have two separate systems of treating men and women defiantly and expect equality."
Sabrina's domestic violence charges over the years have ended in several costly divorces and years in the court system and almost went unnoticed by the general public given its not a guy hitting a girl.
Sabrina remarried in 2009 and got in an argument over who could win in an arm wrestle. When Sabrina lost to her then husband, Eric Matthews, she became enraged in anger. She screamed "You won't like me when I am angry!" and proceeded to karate chop him in the face. He tried to calm her down and she stabbed a knife into his hand.
He said, "I will stick to fighting dudes because they are pussies in comparison to my ex-wife Sabrina. That bitch beat the shit out of me on a regular basis and I just couldn't take the abuse."
